The Australian Shepherd Club of the U.K. held a Limit Show where:-
BEST IN SHOW was McNee’s ARMATAN COMMOTION

RESERVE BEST IN SHOW was Boggis’s ECHOES OF THE DARK AT ANKETTS

BEST PUPPY IN SHOW was Rogers’s OZWAY FIRST PRINT AT FREBOBEARS

BEST VETERAN IN SHOW was Rogers’s CAGASA ARI-ZONA AT FREBOBEARS

I really enjoyed my day with an entry of 65 dogs representing a reasonable cross section of the breed. A friendly atmosphere was combined with some very appealing exhibits and I feel certain the breed has a very interesting future.
Overall type appeared to be satisfactory but I did find quite a number of dogs with large, round eyes and pigmentation problems.
Obviously this show wasn’t a Championship Show but I trust that all exhibitors and breeders will attempt to address what I feel is an urgent requirement in order to have dogs with that much desired appealing expression.
Class winners were:-
Minor Puppy Dog
Down’s Ozway First Finale at Freespirit
6 months old young man who is now at his ‘inbetween’ stage and will develop as he matures. Pleasing head pattern, straight front and enough reach of neck. Level topline and enough rear angulation. Moved out reasonably well. Best Puppy Dog and Reserve Best Puppy in Show

Newell’s Impenzie Glaedr
Appealing youngster with a flat skull. Well muscled foreface with correct amount of stop. Eyes could have been more appealing but did not distract from his tight front. Good height to length ratio. Level topline, held on the move and well turned stifles. Well presented and shown. Reserve Best Dog
Yearling Dog
Hillis’s Armatan Born To Move (A.I)
Well made dog with good head pattern. Earset could have been tighter but the effect was one of masculinity. Good well boned straight front with nice reach of neck. Well developed ribcage and strong hindquarters. Moved out well.
