Currently there are three Obedience Champion Australian Shepherds.
The first Obedience Champion Australian Shepherd was Ob.Ch Cagasa Dark`n`Delicious OW CDex UDex WDex 'Dee' (21.02.1998 - 14.01.2011)
owned and was handled by Susanne Jaffa.
It is with sadness that Susanne informs me that 'Dee' was given sleep today (14.01.2011) Dee definitely deserves a very special mention, and I promised Susanne I would write something nice. I have chosen Susanne's words to describe 'Dee' as I feel she sums her up perfectly.
'Dee was a landmark for the breed
being the first Australian Shepherd to win ANY ticket at any discipline in this
country.
Dee should be remembered, not just for being a very famous working dog, but also
for being wily. highly intelligent, manipulative and VERY strong minded. Susanne
loved 'Dee' to bits but was never sure whether she liked her. People that knew
her will understand this and she became known as "the old cow". People will have
many memories like Susanne does of her antics and she was ever the opportunist
to re arrange things to her advantage.
Susanne still has 3 dogs but cannot believe the eerie calm, and says that her
house is so very quiet and still, as if a massive presence has left and gone.
The house is not empty, but the energy and force has gone from it.....
What makes this little dogs success so much more special, is that Dee was a rescue Aussie........RIP 'Dee', your memory will live on... xx

The second Aussie is owned by Susanne as well, Ob.Ch Amberslade Buckanear OW CDex UDex WDex TDex 'Buck'
The third Aussie is Ob.Ch Topeka Railroad Stitch OW 'Stitch' owned by Sue Beavers
May many Aussies follow in Dee, Buck & Stiches 'pawprints'.....
