ASCUK is the foundation Australian Shepherd Club in the UK and was formed in 1986 by a few dedicated breed enthusiasts.

ASCUK is dedicated to promoting the responsible breeding and registering of pure bred Australian Shepherds and to do all in its' power to bring their natural qualities to perfection.
The aim of the club is to educate and promote an atmosphere of good sportsmanship, volunteerism and responsibility for the breed and the breed image to the public.
ASCUK do NOT support the breeding of so-called Mini Australian or American Shepherds which are neither recognised by, or registered on the Breed Register with the UK Kennel Club.
The Australian Shepherd is a medium sized dog, and does NOT have varieties.
